I helped launch a new business founded by a guy named Shehan to export Australian dried fruits and nuts into Sri Lanka. This business sought to match growing Sri Lankan demand for Australian produce with an undersupply of dried fruit and nut products. By working with Cornerstone’s existing brand, I was able to add two distribution systems that generated new retail and commercial customers. Following this, I was then able to better streamline their supply chain also allowing them to add additional products. Improving shipping logistics and arrangements I then coupled all these improvements with overhauling their accounting practices and software. All this resulted in increased profit margins and sales with Cornerstone Fine Foods becoming an increasingly recognised and popular brand across Sri Lanka and Australian farmers finding access to an un-tapped market.
