Project Description

Set up a program for high school students interested in exploring media as a potential career. The program enabled students 12 years or older to be trained by industry professionals in skills such as cinematography, photography, editing, audio engineering and motion graphics. The program then gave students the opportunity to create videos and other creative outputs set by a partnering institution. This allowed students the opportunity to learn about working towards a brief, setting schedules and achieving timeframes, and working with intersecting disciplines to achieve a final output. The program gave students the chance to explore what it would be like to work in the industry before committing to it as a career path. It also gave participants skills, contacts and a portfolio to make starting a career easier. The program catered for over 100 students and ran across two schools.
